Since joining eviCore in 1999, Mr. Smith has served in multiple roles, starting as the Vice President of Operations with MedSolutions (later acquired by CareCore National), now known as eviCore. He also led the development and management of the national imaging center network, and has led successful major initiatives in account management and business development. Mr. Smith currently serves as the President of eviCore’s Medical Benefits Management division; he is responsible for the profit and loss as well as overall growth of all business units. Prior to joining eviCore, Mr. Smith spent more than 3 years with Cigna/Healthsource in South Carolina as the VP, provider network management. He was responsible for national contracting for ancillary services for Cigna as well as management of local-market medical cost management activities. Prior to joining Healthsource, he served as Vice President of Development for Medical Resource Management. Mr. Smith began his career as a CPA in the Internal Audit department at Ernst & Whinney (which later became Ernst & Young). Mr. Smith graduated from Harding University with a BBA in accounting.
As President, Post-Acute, Home and Emerging solutions, Mr. Eilert brings strategic vision, P&L experience, and a growth-and-innovation mindset to a market space that is poised for expansion and ripe for disruption. He leads the strategy and execution of our newly aligned business focused on delivering risk-based solutions that improve the affordability, simplicity, and predictability of healthcare for populations requiring post-acute, home, chronic, and complex care. While this unit serves clients across multiple lines of business, special priority will be placed on acting as the partner of choice for Medicare populations—both for our external clients as well as for the Cigna Medicare Advantage business. In assembling eviCore and Alegis Care capabilities and people, we are executing the foundational step of a clearly defined strategic roadmap promising an expanded and more impactful role as a comprehensive, differentiated solutions provider to our clients. Previously Mr. Eilert served eviCore as President, Growth & Innovation, where he led the creation, evolution, and execution of all sales, client management, marketing, and product innovation functions.
Mr. Eilert has more than 27 years of experience in healthcare services and technology, excelling in executive leadership for companies ranging from early-stage to Fortune 5. Prior to joining eviCore he worked for OPTUM, a division of UnitedHealth Group, where over a period of 12 years he held progressively senior positions that included SVP, Payer Solutions and SVP, Growth. He has also held various leadership roles with high-growth healthcare companies including GeoAccess, STERIS, and Stryker.
Mr. Eilert earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of Kansas and an MBA from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He is active in his local community and serves on boards of not-for-profit organizations in the Kansas City area.
Ms. Ott leads the eviCore Sales, Client Management, Sales Enablement and Marketing teams responsible for bringing integrated medical benefit management (MBM) cost-saving solutions to health plans and government payers across the United States. She has more than 30 years' experience acquiring and expanding healthcare business through a performance-driven, solution-oriented focus on building medical and pharmacy benefit management solutions serving long-term partnerships in employer, payer and provider markets. Her ability to think strategically as well as analytically to identify and resolve barriers and create win-win scenarios has enabled her teams to consistently achieve multimillion dollar sales generation and develop longstanding client and provider relationships.
Ms. Ott joined eviCore in 2013 with a concentration in pharmacy benefit management (PBM), provider relations, and total healthcare benefit management. Previously she served as the Divisional Vice President of Sales for the PBM and National Payer Segment for Walgreens, the nation’s largest drugstore chain, and as the Executive Director and Segment Lead of Business Development at MedImpact Healthcare Systems. She has also held senior leadership roles in sales, account management, provider relations, and network contracting at Express Scripts and HealthLink, an Anthem company. Prior to that, she managed provider relations, finance, and network development for Group Health Plan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coventry Health Care, Inc.
Ms. Ott focused on Business Administration when she attended the University of Missouri. She is active in Leadership and Management for Women in Business (Kellogg School of Management), TQI/CQI Leadership – Change Leadership, and theRonald McDonald House charities.
As the chief of eviCore human resources, Ms. Brown guides the development and execution of its human resource strategy in support of the company’s business plan and strategic direction. Since 2010 she has overseen the HR function through eviCore’s unprecedented growth as well as significant mergers and acquisitions. Her previous experience included serving as a partner at Hewitt (Aon Hewitt). Ms. Brown received her bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.) degree at Loyola University. She holds the following professional designations: Certified Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the HR Certification Institute. She is also an ACSTH Certified Coach.
Ms. Johnson oversees eviCore’s compliance department. As the Chief Compliance Officer, she leads the planning and implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures that ensure the Company’s compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as third-party guidelines. Ms. Johnson joined eviCore as Associate General Counsel in 2010. Previously, as an attorney for Garfunkel, Wild in New York for 9 years, she frequently acted as counsel to eviCore. She began her career as an engineering consultant with Patrick Engineering in Chicago. Ms. Johnson holds a BS in environmental sciences from DePaul University and a JD from Columbia Law School.
Dr. Gratias joined eviCore in 2013 and has served as eviCore’s Chief Medical Officer since 2019. He is responsible for the overall clinical performance of the company’s management solutions, as well as the development of innovative capabilities. He oversees the company’s formulation and maintenance of clinical guidelines, as well as its payer and provider relations, utilization and quality management services, and health services research. Dr. Gratias also serves as the senior clinical liaison to eviCore health-plan clients and the broader physician community.
Prior to joining eviCore, Dr. Gratias was Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. He also served as a practicing Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger and as a member of the Renal Tumors Steering Committee of the Children’s Oncology Group. He is a fellowship-trained, continuously board-certified Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist, and practiced full-time pediatric hematology/oncology in Chattanooga for 9 years.
Dr. Gratias received his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed his residency in general pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is an author of over 20 peer-reviewed publications and nearly 40 regional or national meeting abstracts.
As Chief Information Officer (CIO), Mr. Thomas is responsible for oversight of all areas of technology for eviCore, including product-related software development, infrastructure, analytics engineering and call center operations. Prior to becoming eviCore CIO in April of 2020, he has had multiple leadership roles in Technology at eviCore including leading application development organizations, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and our program management office. His more than 20 years of broad technology leadership experience also includes, serving as Partner at Key Business Technologies, SVP of Security and Environmental Solutions at I3, VP Gulf Coast Operations at Radiance Technologies and TRW Space and Missile Defense.
Mr. Thomas received his B.S. in Mathematics and M.S in Applied Mathematics at Auburn University, and his M.B.A. at the University of South Alabama.
As Managing Director, eviCore Operations, Mr. Schmucker manages the development and execution of the operations strategy for eviCore’s Benefits Management+ Solutions. This includes overseeing the operations for the eviCore solutions’ analytics and technology effectiveness capabilities, experience and integration teams, operations training and auditing teams, client implementations, and the production workforce of physician, nurse, non-clinical contact center, and claims. Mr. Schmucker is also responsible for advancing the business by leading strategic initiatives and supporting the growth efforts of sales and account management organizations.
Mr. Schmucker joined eviCore in 2010 after a distinguished career with the United States Army as an Active Duty Major. His military career included 12 years of experience with several awards, including a Bronze Star: managing operations deployments at home and abroad in Kosovo; commanding units in the Iraq War; and leading humanitarian efforts in New Orleans following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Upon joining eviCore, he led operations for the Musculoskeletal solutions and Lab programs. Subsequently as Vice President of Operations he assumed responsibility for new solution development, implementations, and client management. In his most recent role as Senior Vice President Operations, he oversaw all client-centric operations, including service, client, and program operations, and implementations. He also led the operations centers of excellence teams, consumer engagement initiatives, and the non-clinical contact center operations.
Mr. Schmucker is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a minor in Systems Engineering. He also earned his Master's Degree from Columbia University in Organizational & Leader Development.
