We are pleased to share news that eviCore healthcare's CDS solution has been recognized as a Qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (CDSM) by CMS. In addition, the tool incorporates Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) via a partnership with Medical Guidelines Institute, designated by CMS as a Provider Led Entity (PLE).
As part of efforts to ensure that Medicare patients receive appropriate care, and to eliminate unnecessary costs, CMS is mandating use of clinical decision support (CDS) for outpatient diagnostic imaging. Starting in January 2019, physicians must consult appropriate use guidelines when ordering advanced imaging procedures such as CT, MRI, PET and SPECT for designated conditions. Further, providers who use CDS will earn points under the 2018 MIPs quality measurement program.
Great confirmation of the value that eviCore brings to patients, providers and payers.
