HealthSpring Provider Resources

Effective March 1, 2026, EviCore by Evernorth will no longer manage prior authorization requests for Durable Medical Equipment services for HealthSpring members. Any authorizations issued prior to March 1, 2026 will remain valid for those dates and services. For dates of service beginning March 1, 2026: Submit requests directly to HealthSpring through their provider portal, Availity^® Essentials. Refer to the HealthSpring clinical review page for a list of procedural codes requiring prior authorization. For any questions, please contact HealthSpring using the phone number on the back of the member’s ID card.

As of 1/1/26, EviCore will no longer provide prior authorization for Post-Acute Care and Home Health requests for Healthspring. All referrals created or received for start of care for the Post-Acute Care program after 12/31/25, should be directed to Healthspring via portal at (www.availity.com). All referrals created or received for start of care for the Home Health program after 12/31/25, should be directed to Healthspring via portal at (www.availity.com).

Effective January 1, 2026, Now known as HealthSpring, HCSC acquired the Cigna Group’s Medicare Advantage businesses in March of 2025. With this transition effective January 1, 2026, most Prior Authorizations that were delegated by Cigna Medicare Advantage will continue to be delegated to EviCore under HealthSpring. 

Post Acute Care (PAC) and Home Health Services are not delegated to EviCore on and after January 1, 2026.   Please refer to HealthSpring for more detailed information.  Health care Providers | HealthSpring
